Rancho Family Fest: Joining Forces For A Greater Community Cause

At CCPM, one of the greatest facets that helps drive our mission is our community involvement. Many CP families struggle with the lack of support from others who don’t understand this diagnosis. This struggle can create feelings of loneliness, helplessness, and hopelessness. Without our community’s help, we cannot accomplish what we set out to do: improve the quality of life of Cerebral Palsy children and their families.

With so little awareness, we have dedicated our efforts to bring Cerebral Palsy to light in Orange County. One of the ways we bring awareness is through community events, such as our recent involvement in the Rancho Family Fest. This amazing weekend event kicked off the summer with live music, entertainment, a free kids fun zone (thanks to Applied Medical), food and drinks, and so much more!

As members of the Rancho Santa Margarita Chamber of Commerce, we were delighted to have a booth at the festival. Our booth featured an exciting game with prizes for all children, a raffle of amazing gift baskets for adults, and a chance to win one of Maddie’s gorgeous handmade sculptures.

We were honored to spend the weekend meeting so many passionate, caring people who have a heart for our organization’s purpose.

These are some of the amazing people we connected with during Rancho Family Fest:

Patti and Don Hill from Rainbow Kids Achievement Center

We were so grateful to have our booth placed right next to the inspiring founders of Rainbow Kids, Patti and Don Hill. The spirit of Rainbow Kids is “where every child achieves.” Their goal is to provide exceptional multidisciplinary pediatric therapy and early intervention services to children with special needs, while supporting and including the family. They share the same heartbeat as ours — to do whatever it takes to inspire special needs children and their families to achieve their personal best.

RSM Chamber of Commerce Board Members

Throughout the weekend, we were able to meet new friends and reconnect with old friends from the Rancho Santa Margarita Chamber of Commerce. These incredible members of the RSM Chamber Board give of themselves so fully and tirelessly to bless others. We appreciated being able to spend time with Mike Conte, Curt Stanley, Jacqueline London-Barnett, Rachel Coan, and Bethan Parmenter. We are so thankful for their hard work and their continued friendship and support of CCPM.

Mike and Jaime Mattson from One Source Realty

A few booths down, we befriended the owners of One Source Realty. Mike and Jaime Mattson’s innovative approach to serving their clients will serve to bless our constituents as well. They have so graciously offered to donate an hour of free handyman services to any local Cerebral Palsy family in need. This is a service normally only relegated to their clients they are listing and selling homes for. But, as willing servants who care deeply for people in need, Mike Mattson has offered personally to assist our families. He can be reached at 949-973-2118. Please let him know that Debbie Fragner referred you.

Community Friendraising

Rancho Family Fest provided us with the opportunity to meet extraordinary people in our community who share our passion for helping others in our community. They stopped by our booth and took the time to chat with us, play games, and learn more about our organization’s goals. We connected with community neighbors, businesses and professionals such as Ron Cookston from Fountain Valley Fire Department, Noel Fairbairn from Park Terrace Rancho Santa Margarita, Marque Medical, and Rae’s Place.

Wendy Goetschel, Ms. Southern California 2019

Along with being Ms. Southern California 2019, Wendy is passionate about the inclusion of those with intellectual or developmental disabilities. We had a wonderful time brainstorming ways to work together, as Wendy’s mission to help those in need closely aligns with our own. We look forward to working together to improve the lives and future of special needs children.

Dream Givers Needed

The Cerebral Palsy community needs the help of Dream Givers to bring awareness, support, and positive change to the lives of these children.

As we continue to drive our mission to help families with Cerebral Palsy have fulfilling lives, we feel a great sense of gratitude for community members in Orange County who help us make dreams happen.
